Who we are

This privacy policy applies to all interactions with the website at the address https://swcomputerlab.org owned and operated by SW Computer Lab (ABN: 85 460 700 348).

Data Collection

All data that you provide to us (including your name, any images, comments and time) belongs to you and will be stored on a server hosted in Utah, USA by a company called Bluehost but they do not access your data. Most of this data is only stored temporarily while you utilize the services and will be deleted afterwards. Some data may be stored indefinitely on your behalf, until either SW Computer Lab or yourself decide to delete it, such as posts, comments, images. All data goes through spam detection.

For users that register on our website, we also store your personal information that you provide in your user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete your own personal information at any time (except you cannot change your username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you chose to use the Gravatar service, an anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy.

If you make any posts or comments on the blog or forum services, your content will undergo spam detection, and security filters before it will be made available on the website. Your profile, including your profile picture, will be visible to the public in the context of your content and your content will be automatically displayed on your profile as well as in any activity streams to be displayed to your friends and the public according to your security settings.

If you upload images to the website, be aware that they may contain embedded location data (for example EXIF GPS) that other users of this website could extract to gain information on you. If this concerns you then change your camera settings or be sure to clear all meta data from any files you upload.

Cookies

We store cookies in your browser cache for your convenience and to help provide essential services provided by the website, such as your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this website may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
